If you know me it’s no Surprise that Blue Collar is my Spot!
I have been coming here since they opened up. Small restaurant located in motel on Biscayne Blvd. The surrounding area maybe shady but it’s getting better! The motel was recently renovated to bring in hopefully a Better Cliental. If you drive fast you will probably pass by it. They can accommodate about 20 people inside with about the same amount in their outside patio area. What they lack in space they make up in preparing Delicious Food!
When I go I usually go for lunch. I start with their shrimp and grits, pork and beans or the mac and cheese. The grits are creamy and comes with several nice size shrimps and pieces of pork chicharrones in a sauce that’s so Delicious. The mac and cheese is made with spiral pasta, creamy béchamel sauce, and you can add rock shrimp or bacon to it. I usually add both and it’s a great combination! The pork and beans are made with smokey bacon, Berkshire sausage, fried egg, and a side of toast. Then for lunch I have had the burger, the Big Ragout sandwich, shrimp poo boy, and the Philly Cheese Steak. The burger is made with Prime Dry Aged NY Strip on a Portuguese Muffin. The Big Ragout is made on a hollowed out crusty bread, pork and veal shoulder, brisket, and provolone cheese. Then there’s the shrimp poo boy! Breaded shrimp fried with onion, lettuce, tomato, and tarter sauce on a Portuguese’s muffin. Simply Delicious!
I have also had dinner and brunch. The chicken parmesan with pasta is tasty. Made with chicken breast that’s breaded and fried topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese. Served with a side of pasta. the brunch is Amazing! my favorites are the Brandons breakfast and the pulled pork eggs benedict. The Brandon has a lemon ricotta pancake, a piece of French toast, sausage, bacon and a side of fruit salad. Simply Delicious! The eggs benedict is on jalapeño corn bread topped off with the pulled pork and hollandaise sauce. Awesome! They also have daily specials.
